DAWGS
Biography of President | Neil Neumeyer has been a member of DAWGS since its inception. Neil served on the steering committee for his first two years and then moved into the Vice President position for the past two years. In August of 2008, Neil assumed his current role of acting President of DAWGS. Neil has traveled throughout the western hemisphere in search of his big catch. He has cast lines in British Columbia, Alaska, Montana, Idaho, Bahamas, Chile, Argentina, and certainly Wyoming. Neil began using his fly rod in earnest in the late 90`s. He has been an exclusive fly fisherman since. Neil still holds nostalgic memories of plunking a worm in the waters of Pike County, Pennsylvania – on the Delaware and Lackawaxen Rivers and Lake Walenpaupack where he spent his childhood and whet his appetite for angling. For all of the fishing adventures Neil has had, his most cherished is the day his (then, 10 year-
old) son Skyler, pulled a 24" brown trout out of a Wyoming river. Neil`s eyes were huge and his heart pumping – he excitedly asked Skyler what he thought about the monster fish he had just landed. Skyler, matter-of-factly replied "Yeah, that`s nice." Neil believes whole-heartedly in the mission of DAWGS and its commitment to improve fish habitat in the Wind River and its tributaries. When asked about his involvement in DAWGS, Neil enthusiastically answered "It`s all about the habitat."
